The customer operates a horizontal crane and faced challenges with ensuring its safety. They needed a system that could stop the crane if any object obstructed its path, thus improving safety. Our solution involved installing sensors on both sides of the crane – left and right.

Challenges
- We designed a robust steel enclosure to house all the electronic components required for the system.
- Pulling wires from one leg of the crane to the other posed a significant challenge. We tackled this problem effectively, ensuring a reliable connection.
- To power our sensors, we integrated a power supply unit.
- We installed a tower light and an additional siren to provide clear warning alerts whenever our sensors detected an obstruction.
- Relays installed in the control panel allowed us to gain control over the crane’s operations. When the sensor detected an obstacle, it signaled the crane to stop moving. The crane remained stationary until the sensor cleared and no obstruction was present.
- To protect the sensors from harsh weather conditions, we fabricated sturdy steel holders and provided insulation.
